Statistics Canada released Canadian recreational cannabis sales for the month.

(Note: As NS, Yukon and NWT have not reported in the past few months, I have held NWT and Yukon constant at their last reported month and used NS as a balancing entry to equal the Canadian aggregate.)
Daily purchase growth MoM for August 2021 increased +5.2% or to $11.5 million/day or annualized $4.2 billion. The increase was the second largest of the past four months and notches three consecutive positive MOM increases.
Annual growth per month on YoY basis is $105 million. This YoY figure has been decreasing of late and decreased from $106 million last month, $117 million June 2021 and $126 million in May 2021. Sales growth is slowing on YoY basis since April 2021 this year.

Month Over Month $’s delta by Province:
Quarterly Trailing 3-month daily sales evidence a +10.6% QoQ dropping form last Q’s +12.1%. This is the first decline after four MoM increases in a row of T3Month growth after the March 2021 +1.6%.
Leading provinces by $ growth for the MoM:
Ontario +$12.6 million… that is 71% of Canada’s growth for the month
BC +$3.5 million… which was 20% of Canada’s growth for the month
MB + $1.5 million
No other province was greater than $1.0 million increase.
Leading provinces by $ contraction for the month:
NS, NB, AB all had nominal decreases.
Month Over Month % delta by Province:
August 2020 to August 2021 growth was +42%.
