Statistics Canada released Canadian recreational cannabis sales for the month.

Last 13 Months:

Daily purchase growth MoM for June 2021 increased +5.1% or to $10.6 million/day or annualized $3.9 billion.  The increase reversed last month’s negative daily growth rate.  Third month in a row greater than $10 million/day.

Annual growth per month on YoY basis is $117 million

• Ontario + $71 million
• Alberta + $10 million
• Quebec + $9 million
• BC + $15 million

Month Over Month $’s delta by Province:

Quarterly Trailing 3-month daily sales evidence a +11.7% QoQ, the highest since November 30, 2020 T3Month % QoQ.  This is the third MoM in a row of T3Month growth after the March 2021 1.6%.

Leading provinces by $ growth for the MoM:

Ontario +$8.9 million… that is 83% of Canada’s growth for the month

No other province had a greater than $1 million MoM increase.

Leading provinces by $ contraction for the month:

AB -$2.6 million

BC -$1.9 million and

QC and PEI nominal decrease.

Month Over Month % delta by Province:

June 2020 to June 2021 growth was 59%.

Leading provinces by % growth for the month:

NS +11%

Ontario 8%
