US Peer Gross Margin & US and CDN Peer Gross Margin

As we have been busy last week with Lift Expo 2019 (and we will have a TON of content on the way from MashUp Podcast, Live From Lift, and Video from WE Cann), I thought I would put the spurs to the horse and start showing subscribers the US Peer Group and a "Special" US and Cdn Peer Group by Gross Margin. What was holding up the US Peer Group info was quarterly financials that had some stand alone Q's, versus a year end where I would have to back-out the previous 3 Q's when no previous reporting was available. Breakeven Sales levels to…

Aurora Cannabis Q3 F2019 Rundown – March 31, 2019

First off… some very good disclosure in the MDA and the 1.5 hour conference call.  I think Cam said, “Aurora can have its cake and eat it too.” when commenting about having product to sell now and product to build out for Formats 2.0.  This is a very true statement. Three things to keep in mind for this Q on operations basis: Managed healthy increase in sales despite overall market being reportedly downWe are just seeing the leading edge of the Sky production capacity moving through the pipeline to sales. Q0 ended Dec 31, 2018 and saw a large reduction in Finished Goods Inventory available to start Q, which just ended March 31, 2019. Q0-1 ended Sept 30, 2018 and included acquisition of Medreleaf [July/2018] Q0-2 ended June 30, 2018 and included acquisition of CMED [May/2018]

How much did Peltz cost Aurora?

Big name, and a big announcement today by ACB as they bagged Nelson Peltz - a notable in consumer products, and has been a director of just about anything a consumer might come across in daily life. As a business person and 'advisor', he was brought on to "work collaboratively and strategically" as a matchmaking service - to bridge cannabis into and across the CPG space. Unlike the backing Cronos and Canopy have with companies, this approach is a little more open ended, and doesn't have a single entry point like the Altria and Constellation deals they have respectively. ACB gave up some 20MM…

The Rise of the Machines

It's timely that all three Cannalysts were out in the field touring last week. Especially where we were. Blue went to Aphria Phase IV & V, while Cyto and myself found ourselves at Aurora SKY.  It was also timely because both ACB & APHA received license amendments over the past couple of weeks that’ll allow them both to fully operationalize their respective platforms. When I saw Aphria’s buildout  last fall - I was agog at the scale and ambition of creating an advanced manufacturing platform for growing cannabis. SKY has been described as ‘…the most technologically advanced cannabis hybrid-indoor facility in the world’. While…
